Aesch is a municipality in the district of Hochdorf, in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. It is located in the Seetal valley and has a population of around 2,200 people.

History

The first mention of Aesch dates back to 1164, when it was known as Esch. The village was originally a part of the Habsburg rule, until it became a part of the Swiss Confederacy in 1415. During the 19th century, the village underwent a transformation from an agricultural community to an industrial one, with the introduction of cotton and silk mills. Today, Aesch is a mix of residential and industrial areas.

Aesch is located in the Seetal valley, on the northwestern shore of Lake Hallwil. The municipality covers an area of 8.32 square kilometers and has an elevation of 520 meters above sea level.
