Overview

Prugiasco is a municipality in the district of Blenio in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The village is situated on the left side of the river Brenno, at an altitude of 666 meters above sea level. History

The first mention of Prugiasco dates back to the year 1209, when it was known as Pruxiasco. During the Middle Ages, the village was under the control of the Bishop of Como. Prugiasco has an area of 11.5 square kilometers. It is located in the Blenio Valley, one of the largest valleys in the canton of Ticino.
