Sementina is a municipality in the district of Bellinzona in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Bellinzona and has a population of around 2,000 people. History
The earliest known settlement in the area now known as Sementina dates back to the Roman period, when a villa was built on the site. During the Middle Ages, the area was controlled by various feudal lords and was part of the county of Bellinzona. In the 15th century, the region was incorporated into the Swiss Confederation and became part of the canton of Ticino.

Sementina is situated on the southern slope of the Swiss Alps, on the right bank of the Ticino river. The municipality is bordered by Bellinzona, Gnosca, Camorino and Sant'Antonino.
