Kernenried is a municipality in the administrative district of Bern-Mittelland in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. History
Kernenried was first mentioned in historical records in 1278 as "Chernenriet". The village was originally part of the County of Kyburg and later came under the control of the city of Bern. During the 19th century, Kernenried underwent significant economic growth, with the construction of a sawmill, a spinning mill and a cheese factory. Today, the village remains a largely agricultural community.
